IT, a movie (arguably) no-one expected to do well, made gangbusters opening day. Blade Runner 2049, a movie almost everyone thought was going to do well, ended up flopping opening day.
I have only seen one of these films, IT, and while I enjoyed it after hearing word-of-mouth about it, I wasn't nearly as excited for it as I am for Blade Runner 2049. This makes me wonder what went wrong for Blade Runner 2049 since it seems to be a good movie but no one is seeing it. Is the sequel fatigue that bad even though the original and 2049 are released 30 years apart?
