"Remember; no man is a failure who has friends" - It's A Wonderful Life

This film had a profound impact on me. It's just so pure. When it was over I just sat still processing the happiness I was feeling. For those that don't know, the main character, George Bailey, has been denied the life he always wanted through a number of unfortunate events, and feels like he's never actually made a difference. Over the years, he slowly becomes angry and depressed until he suddenly snaps. He is about to kill himself before his guardian angel ( I don't even believe in guardian angels but it's still so sweet ) appears and shows George what life would be like had he never existed. It turns out that, although he never got to do all the things he planned, he actually has made a difference - his family and everyone in his small town have benefited from his existence. He finally realises that he is happy and that he does live a meaningful life. The film ends with everyone he knows in his house, singing along to a Christmas Carol together. It's a very life-affirming film.
