What's an imaginary "top 10 favorite films" list that would make you go "wow, what an impressive list. This person must be very sophisticated!"?

I think such a list should contain movies from different countries, from different time eras, not movies that are too well-known, mostly movies that are critically acclaimed, and also the list should feel genuine.

What about this list:

Persona (Swedish, 1960, Bergman, very critically acclaimed)

The Great Train Robbery (silent film, very old - 1903, film-historically important)

Deep Blue Sea (2001, obligatory "guilty pleasure" film on the list)

Le Mepris (1963, Godard movie but not one of his most well-known ones, French)

A Serious Man (2009, critically acclaimed, newer movie, also not one of the Coen brothers' most known ones)

How's this for a start of the top 10 list? Am I off to a good start? Would you be impressed if somebody had these 5 movies on their top 10 favorite movies list? What are some other movies that should be included? I'm against listing movies that are TOO famous, because that would make the list seem less genuine. I.e. no The Godfather, Citizen Kane, Shawshank Redemption (what a boring fucking list that'd be).
