Personally I thought it was one of the best movies of 2017 so far, a strong directing debut from Taylor Sheridan.
Among other elements, the cinematography was very effective and editing was solid.
While well-written I don't think it's especially innovative or mind-blowing enough to score a nomination in the original screenplay category.
Jeremy Renner delivered one of the best performances of his career so far. I have no idea though if he will get any Oscar nods. Perhaps some recognition at the Golden Globes?
Elizabeth Olsen's performance was really good, one of her finest since 'Martha, Marcy, May, Marlene'. I think she very well could get a Best Supporting Actress nomination. Maybe not. But I think she deserves something.
