I’m 22 years old currently working a 2-10:30 pm shift at a hospital Mon-Fri. I’m not in school and I still live with my parents. I have a lot of goals like, put on some muscle mass, make my own music, go to college, and get out of my parents house.
Unfortunately I can’t seem to have the energy to do anything besides go to work, eat, and sleep. My job requires me to transport patients around the hospital and I usually walk 8 miles minimum a shift. I don’t get to bed till about 12:30 and even tho I don’t have to go in till 2 pm the next day I can’t force myself up to do anything the morning before.
I can’t really afford to cut any hours and need to keep this schedule but I feel like I have zero social life and zero time to do anything else. I want to have some growth and see some change in my life but I cant seem to break away from the work week.
Prob sounds like I’m a wimp compared to people that have it way harder and still get stuff done, but what are some ways you guys handle this? How do you get the energy to push yourself to get more out of life and outside of your day job? Is it just pure willpower and grit?
I have too much potential and goals to just slave it away to a 9-5 my whole life...
