I'm not sure if this is the best place to talk about something like this, but i'll try.
So the new Blade Runner 2049 movie just came out and from the trailers, i was excited. Upon finishing the movie, i was speechless. It certainly wasnt what i expected. It didnt have much action, so some scenes tend to drag a bit minus the ones where the tension is high. When i found out that this movie is a detective noir genre movie, i was interested immediately. From cartoons parodying these kinds of genre, i was always curious to see a movie like that. With Blade Runner 2049, i appreciate the movie even more than before. I really love the visuals and the score is also amazing. However, not everyone shares the same view as i have.
Most of the people in my country quickly shot down the movie by saying it is one of the most boring and tedious movies they've ever watched. Their "critiques" was how the scenes are just talking with nothing much happening and they only ever cared for Harrison Ford, who doesnt appear until 2 hours into the movie! In the cinemas where i watched, some people were playing with their phones while 2-3 people basically left and never came back.
I was honestly disappointed with their mindset. They came in expecting some kind of Michael Bay level mindless blockbuster but was wrong. They didnt even think about the themes and ideas or even the effects in the movie. Its sad really. Can't really blame em though, movies of this genre has never aired in my country before from what i can remember, so maybe their critics are justified.
