I just finished watching The Girl With The Pearl Earring, remembering nothing of the marketing or what it was about other than a period piece about a painting with Scarlett Johanssen. Come to find out it features Colin Firth on maximum brood in one of my fave genres, the super slow burn. And it reminded me of another fave that is similar, both in erotic tension and the artist/subject relationship: The Governess with Minnie Driver. Other thoughts and reccs in this genre? I especially like historical settings.
