I hate to sound like a downer but I'm just really worried about how they're portraying Luke so far. The trailer makes him look like a disheveled old fart. Obi wan had that streak of bad ass in Episode IV and I just wasn't getting that vibe at all from the trailer. I was really hoping for Luke to be an enigmatic Jedi master turned hermit like Obi Wan. But they're making him look like an old kook.
If they don't have him power up a lightsaber in this I'm going to be bitter as fuck. Doesn't surprise me that Mark Hamill is on the record saying he didn't agree with Rian Johnson's script at all. Mark is Luke after all, he understands him. And he's known for enjoying the hell out of shooting the duel scenes. The Luke in the trailer didn't act (or sound oddly enough) like the Luke we all know and love. The one thing I liked about TFA is that at the end I was like oh fuck Luke is back baby! But now I'm bracing myself for him to be relegated to a different kind of character. Any thoughts on this?
