With the reveal that Jamie Lee Curtis is going to reprise her role as Laurie in the new Halloween film, my mind is going into overdrive trying to think how they plan on doing it.

So they have stated that the new film will create a new canon of the series just being Halloween 1&2 (but not H2O which is a shame because I liked that film). This still raises questions as to how they plan on bringing Michael back without a supernatural element. At the end of Halloween 2 Michael was shot in the face, blinded AND set on fire/blown up.

I personally think H2O would have been a much better jumping off point (even though that too has the problem of how Halloween 2 ended) to have Laurie return. There is no way they will bring Jamie Lee Curtis back as a main character to just have her running around screaming. She has to be a fighter as she was in H2O. So they could have continued that storyline by recasting her son (as I assume Josh Harnett wouldn't want to return) and having Michael stalking him and having Laurie return to fight for her son. They could have even took the opening to Resurrection as canon where she kills the wrong person, just avoiding the fact she goes insane and dies but instead becomes a recluse until she finds out her son has moved back to Haddonfield.

Jamie's post stated "same clothes, same porch, same issues, 40 years later" so wouldn't that put Michael in his 60s/70s? little bit touch to be menacing when its about that time to get your free bus pass.

My head hurts
