Me and some friends were talking the other about "Stalker" and how great it and Tarkovsky was. We talked about the texture in his images, the brilliant composition of the images in general, the depth in the ideas of his films etc etc. But I thought I'd come ask /r/movies to see your opinions on why he was so great.
