"The Work", a documentary about group therapy in Folsom Prison, is well worth seeing.

I don't know if it's been discussed here before, but here's the trailer: https://youtu.be/h8OVXG2GhpQ

I don't normally watch documentaries, I just wanted to go to the cinema and this was the next film on. I am so thankful that this film exists. It's the most powerful, moving and emotionally exhausting film I've seen all year. Watching inmates and people from the outside join together to discuss their traumas, their fears and their hopes, having the courage to be vulnerable with each other, was eye-opening and wondrous. It's an incredibly potent examination of men's issues, mental health and the prison system, effortlessly breaking down barriers of race, class and belief. It's a timely reminder of the experiences and humanity that men from all walks of life share. I can't remember the last time I cried in the cinema. It felt like I was inside that session with the men onscreen. I just got out of the cinema and I'm walking on air. This film has absolutely overwhelmed me with its intensity and its optimism. Please go and see it.
