I just watched this gem last night. I had heard of it, but never tried to watch it due to the black and white presentation. However, what a great film! Academy Awards nominations and winners! Set is a desolate Texas town that is lowly dying, it stars a list of young and younger actors and actresses. Wonderfully poignant and sad as people leave the main character behind to move on. Catch it if you can. There is a equal done in 1990, ratings are even. Does anyone know of any similar films about coming of age youth in small towns?
