How about starting a new cult following?

We've all heard of cult movies. Movies known for dedicated and passionate fanbase-movies that, simply put, have acquired a cult following. There are plenty of them, and most of them are pretty good. But there is always a room for more.

In your opinion, what movie, that is not (yet) a cult movie, deserves to have a cult following? Would you ever try starting a cult following yourself? Or, simply, what movie would you recommend to a fellow Redditor? Is there a movie that you (or you and your friends) really like, but it isn't well known?

I think "Safety not Guaranteed" seems like a fitting cult movie, so to say. It does seem to be pretty popular though (among the critics at least; 90% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, though it also grossed 4.4 million on 750 000 dollar budget), so maybe it will gain cult following eventually.

"Faith, Fraud & Minimum Wage" also deserves a cult following, in my opinion. The story itself had been done before, but acting and directing are top notch, and the scenery is simply wonderful, as well as the camera work. The ending is also really well done. It was (badly) advertised as a Christmas comedy, so that really didn't help its popularity.

1997 anthology horror movie "Campfire Tales" definitely deserves more attention. Though the plot is cliche at times, and special effects are dated, the stories are pretty creepy (especially the third) and the acting is quite good. The twist ending is also really well done. There is also a 1991 horror movie of the same name. It is pretty bad, but in a fun, campy way.

What are your suggestions?
