Help! Saw this movie scene as a kid which terrified me, love to know what movie it's from.

There was a guy sitting in a chair tied up with I think 2 guys torturing him. Then 1 guy slowly starts inserting this big ass needle into his left ear. That's all I remember.

With my luck it's probably either something completely different or I've dreamt it up.

Edit - was around early 90's late 80's
