[Discussion] "This movie is bad, and you should feel bad for liking it"

I previously posted a discussion on this subreddit about forgiving the minor flaws of an otherwise enjoyable movie. I want to elaborate on a related point - there are people who not only treat their opinion of a movie like objective fact, but act like other people are wrong for daring to enjoy the movie in spite of whatever flaws the movie has.

Case in point, the Wonder Woman movie. I personally enjoyed the Wonder Woman movie. Yet there doesn't seem to be more than a handful of people online who didn't have issue with the ending. And I don't mean having issue like "I personally didn't like the ending, but it wasn't bad enough to let it affect my ability to enjoy the overall movie." I mean having issue like "The ending sucks and therefore the whole movie sucks and you're wrong for enjoying it."

If you haven't seen Wonder Woman, the movie concludes with a big end fight that Wonder Woman wins by using the power of love.

Is it ridiculous? Yeah, but it's a comic book movie. Realism in comic book movies goes out the window once we suspend enough of our disbelief to accept that, say, radiation is a viable source of superpowers.

Does it ruin the stakes at hand? Well, I don't think it went that far, but that is just me talking.

Is the movie generic, contrived, or forgettable? Personally, while I agree that it doesn't exactly push any envelopes where the narrative is concerned, I thought the movie did its job well enough. The action was exciting, the characters were believable and interesting, and I certainly thought more about Wonder Woman after seeing it in theaters than Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2. But again, that is just me talking.

The point is, if you're gonna tell me your opinion of what a movie did wrong, at least acknowledge that it's just your opinion. I'm not asking you to never say bad things about a movie I like, but don't act like I'm completely wrong for liking a movie in spite of the problems you claim it had.

Thoughts?
