Did anyone ever point out the irony in the "Wong" character and "The Ancient One" w/respect to Marvel's casting?

Back when Tilda Swinton was getting backlash for being cast as "The Ancient One" Marvel said that in part, they were trying to avoid the "wise Asian master" trope. The trouble with that explanation is that Wong does basically the same thing, imparting knowledge to Strange in much the same way the Ancient One does. He's just the librarian instead of the leader.

I know a lot of folks (myself included) asserted that The Ancient One was made Celtic instead of Tibetan because they wanted to make sure the film got released in China, and China wouldn't be likely to play nice with a film that portrayed a Tibetan as such a powerful figure.

"Doctor Strange" was a fun movie in my opinion, and I think the casting works whatever people say. I just can't recall if anyone ever pointed out this particular contradiction after the movie was released.
