I'm genuinely curious. Everyone raves how good the movie was but honestly, at least for me, It was sorta terrible. I saw it with a friend and I never really got scared. The special effects seemed completely unreal at times e.g. The leper, zombies, bathroom blood scene and the scene where pennywise pops out of the projector come to mind. The kids could be hilarious at times but each one seemed sorta one dimensional. The bullies don't seem to have their motivation for bullying really explained (besides the main one). And they threw in the cheesiest idea ever. kiss and she wakes up. The only good moment in the movie for me was the Intro that was super dope, terrifying and well acted.
I'm not trying to play devils advocate or be hipster or different. I genuinely didn't like it and I'd like for someone to explain to me what makes it so good. :) This is my opinion it's an unpopular one but that's all it is, an opinion.
Edit: I forgot to mention a lot of the scares seemed very cheesy and predictable. Not trying to sound verysmart or arrogant just another opinion.
