Patchy editing. I don't know who cut the film because the editing was poorly made. Scenes are cut with little sense or logic leaving you wondering why. It's one thing to keep the pace quick however when it jeopardizes the plot, I question it. It was distracting.

PG-13 rating. Suicide Squad isn't suited for PG-13. These are villains, the scum of the scum, dark characters and you don't see none of it. Deadshot is far more interesting in the comics as opposed to in the film where it is basically Will Smith playing Will Smith. Deadshot is meant to be a tragic figure, someone who kills out of a feeling of self-loathing and lacking a will to live. Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn is a big tease with a couple of unfunny one-liners yet she's also a homicidal maniac, you never truly find Harley unnerving. She's just a kooky bad girl. The rest of the Suicide Squad are ciphers. Only Viola Davis stuns as the morally corrupt Amanda Waller even if she's more like Oprah Winfrey than the Amanda Waller of the comics.

Awful villain. I didn't mind the idea of having the Enchantress as the villain. She is a fascinating character in the books. But in film she's played by someone who can't act and the role is poorly written. There's an attempt to create a passionate dilemma with Rick Flag which doesn't work since you're not invested enough in their relationship.

What was the point of featuring the Joker if he's going to be underused? I don't even blame Jared Leto for the Joker failing to break out for the simple reason no actor could accomplish anything worth remembering with such a thin role. Had he been given a meatier part, we might have seen Jared Leto handle the part in a more rewarding fashion.
