Every decade has one film in each genre that stands out in terms of quality, innovation and pop culture impact. For example, in my understanding the 60s had Psycho, 70s had the Exorcist, 80s had Evil Dead/ The Shining, 90s had Silence of the Lambs, 2000s had Paranormal Activity. Of course this is up for debate, as there have been other classics as well.
Which horror film takes this position for the 2010s? It has definitely destroyed all kinds of Box Office records. It has been met with terrific response. So does it also win the title of being the defining horror film of 2010s?
I personally would vote for The Conjuring 2013. Interestingly, both are equally rated on RT, with Conjuring having an 86% and 7.2 rating while It is at 85% and 7.2 rating as well.
