What actor or actress has always played the part of hero or villain, then came out with a movie where they played the opposite, which caused you to enjoy or dislike the film more?

The most recent movie for me was The Circle, where we are suppose to see Tom Hanks as well, not a particularly stand up guy. It was hard for me to actually view him as a bad guy because well it's freaking Tom Hanks!

However the opposite effect happened with Kingsmen to me. I have always seen movies where Mark Strong was the bad guy, so I expected him to be the one who betrayed everyone--and it wasn't! He actually is a good guy and that was great and made the movie even more enjoyable to me.
