It's strange how music is used in this movie. Almost every 'quiet' scene has some sort of background music running through it, which ruins the ambience. All those awesome sound effects on the ship or planet get drown out by unnecessary music. It's something that seems to becoming prevalent in more movies in general too.
According to Wikipedia, Jed Kurzel was the composer for the movie and replaced Harry Gregson-Williams, which seems like a huge backward move, especially based on the poor choices of music used.
