THROWBACK MOVIES DVD REVIEWS: THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA: PRINCE CASPIAN

THROWBACK DVD REVIEWS: THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA: PRINCE CASPIAN By Ashley Diana Wren Another epic journey in Narnia has come to an end for me. But the feelings and emotions are still in my head. The film is set 1,300 years where the Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe leave us. The main plot of the film revolves around Caspian, portrayed by Ben Barnes, as a Telmarine Prince And heir to the throne, who is informed by his mentor that his uncle, Miraz, is plotting to kill him and seize the throne for himself and his newborn heir. Cornelius gives Caspian Queen Susan’s ancient magical horn, instructing him to blow it only at his greatest need. Throughout the course of the film Caspian meets a variety of Narnian heroes such as Trumpkin, portrayed by Game of Thrones Alumni Peter Dinklage, the dwarf Nikabrik portrayed by Willow’s own Warwick Davis, Trufflehunter the Badger, and Reepicheep the noble mouse-keteer. The Pevensies return to Narnia, portrayed by the cast of the previous film, and find it discombobulated between the Narnians and the Telmarines. The epic battle in this film are quite spectacular. We see fighting Minotaurs, Centaurs, Satyrs, Hippogriffs, and so on. The ending of course is a bittersweet ending. As Aslan the Wise, still voiced by Liam Neeson, states, “All things must come to an end.” But will they? In addition, to the stunning special effects, and all, the movie is reminiscent of many war and fantasy flicks. And the majestic music of Harry Griegson-Williams completes an amazing movie score. “Prince Caspian” is rated 5 ASH-STARS.
