Please tell me Kingsman: The Golden Circle doesn't have a scene akin to the church scene in the original.

It does, doesn't? I'd put money on it. Reminds me of the Quicksilver scenes in the last two X-Men movies. The one in DOFP? Fun, inventive! The one in Apocalypse? Still pretty cool, but expected.

This kind of recycling seems so much more common these days. "Hey, remember that thing you liked? Well here it is again - only a little different!"

The last two Star Wars films are perfect examples of this. In the past, this sort of rehashing wasn't as egregious. You used to have to wait years between films for something similar. It might have still been a little cheap then, sure, but it didn't feel as cynical.

I feel like the economy has a hand in this. Studios are, understandably, less hesitant to try something original when cash is tight (for them, anyway). Capitalism stifles creativity to an extent!

Rant over.
