Not sure if this is the right place to post. A question about the legalities of hosting a fundraiser movie night.

I am the treasurer of my school's eSports club and I had an idea to host a movie night at the school to raise funds. The movie night is a voting match between Bee Movie and Shrek, with people able to cast a vote on which movie will be shown when they buy a ticket. However, what are the legalities concerning making money off of a private showing of a film? Do I have to contact the movie company? Can I just sell the votes and then give them a "free ticket" with their purchase?
