It kills me how under appreciated the second half of Full Metal Jacket is

R. Lee Ermey is undeniable no doubt as Gunny. That sets the overall tone.

HOWEVER, what about the Hue City portion?! The interviews scene?! The sniper scene?!

I feel many viewers are often blinded by the film's boot camp sequence and really miss out on Kubrick's portrayal of actual Vietnam. Those scenes were so stylish and well done.

I feel like I'm the only person in the HISTORY of film buffs that prefers the SECOND half of FMJ lol.
