How to fix Kingsman: The Golden Circle

This is gonna be a mainly story based post, so I’m not gonna talk about the visual effects or whatnot. First just a few things to be made clear. This movie just totally drops the super spy team we were teased at the end of the first film for Statesman who are completely brand new and a far cry from what we wanted/expected (not saying the statesman are bad, they’re just underwhelming compared to the Kingsmen we actually wanted), so we’ll fix that. Also, no Colin Firth. He was killed, and he shall remain killed. Keep Eggsy’s mother and sister in it and get rid of the princess girlfriend. It all makes no sense!? So first step to fixing the film, keep the statesman and kingsman separate until halfway through the film when they find each other and team up. Until this point, the movie runs two separate narratives from two point of views:1) Eggsy as the kingsman team tries to figure out who hacked them 2) Whiskey at the statesman get leads on groups of people getting mysteriously poisoned by some new drug (in reality this is poppy testing her poison on groups of people). Now let’s talk about blowing up all the Kingsman. Rather than straight up missiles, have it be a raid on the Kingsman mansion (like in Skyfall). This would not only give us a cool action scene, but it also allows the Kingsman a chance to escape while also giving them reason to go on the run and not return to any of their sites. So now Roxie, Eggsy, and Merlin are on the run. All of their houses are compromised because they’re in the mansion and now have access to all files. Eggsy needs to evacuate his dog, mother, and sister from his house who he is living with (this is in place of his crappy gf and friends). When they all evacuate, because Merlin, being the tech wizard and knowing not to log his personal data, brings Roxie, Eggsy, and Eggsy’s family to the only place left to go...his mother’s house which Poppy would have no way to know about. This would do two things. A) Introduce unexpected relationships between Eggsy’s mom and the agents B) Make Merlin more relatable so it actually means something when he get’s killed off (the mother relationship makes sense because Merlin can’t have any relationships because of Kingsman) and it is cool to see a hard character like Merlin acting like a caring son. Back in the U.S., Tequila and Whiskey are sent on a mission to a processing plant for the poison after tracing it back from one of the victims. The plant turns out to be owned by a huge pharmaceutical company, but this particular one is listed as not operational by the company. This helps establish the statesman, their relationships, and how they all work together. It also gives us yet another cool fight scene with them versus metal arm dude. Most importantly, this mission is why Tequila gets sick. They obtain a sample of the drug and then head back to the base when… At this point in the story for both narratives, Poppy unveils her plan, except it’s not to legalize drugs. She worked her way up to that rank in the Golden Circle so that once she reached the top, she could take down the whole system. She’s poisoning to kill and rid the World of drugs. She is instantly more sympathetic even though she’s obviously still a bad guy, similar to Valentine. Also, she doesn’t face reveal. This is important later on. Using Tequila as a sample, Halle Barry’s character begins work on reverse engineering a cure, giving her something to do. Whiskey heads off to England to visit the headquarters of the pharmaceutical company. Meanwhile, Eggsy Roxxy and Merlin use their own resources to discover who the raiders were. This leads them to discovering they’re employed by the same pharmaceutical company. They head off to investigate the headquarters. It is here that Whiskey gets a meeting with the CEO who turns out to be Poppy. While they’re chatting, not knowing who each other are, the Kingsman are trying to break in and accidentally sound the alarm. Poppy gets away and Eggsy and Whiskey have a fight, but Roxxy steps in and takes Whiskey down. They interrogate him and find out about the Statesman. Furthermore, Roxxy finds in the office building before they’re seen the files that link Poppy to the leader of the Golden Circle, and to her base. At the same time, back in the states, Halle Barry finds the cure and starts getting it made to be distributed, while the Kingsman and Whiskey head to the base to confront Poppy. They all immediately head off for the base. The three of them head in and Merlin goes in also. He does this because he has to get inside so he can hack in and shut off the defense systems, allowing the three to get in. While he does this, he’s caught by Poppy’s guards while the hack is still in the process. He sings Country Road to distract them until the hack is complete, and then, knowing he’s gonna get shot anyway, drops a grenade killing everyone in the room. They fight through the guards, Roxxy fights the dog while Whiskey fights metal arm man. Eggsy gets to Poppy and sits down, gun pointed at her, and talks about why she did what she did, and she explains to him how Valentine was a flawed genius and her plan killed only the bad people, but then goes on to mention she loved Valentine for killing Galahad. Roxxy and Whiskey’s fight eventually intersect and they team up to take down the both of them. They rush in to find Eggsy strangling Poppy. They make him back off, but not before he injects a shit ton of heroine into her killing her. They all have a moment before heading back home. The Kingsman are able to set back up in the mansion, the Statesman return home and Tequila is revived. At this point both teams meet each other and the new team is teased. Poppy and her company are outed and everything is resolved.
