This internationally collaborated film is a perfect representation of everything that needs to happen in the world to make it a better place.
DISCLOSURE: When I view films I drink a bottle of Kentucky Gentleman.
SPOILER: Friend Request is a film about the dangers of unfriending a witch on Facebook.
This is a once-in-a lifetime type of film. Take the opportunity to see it before it leaves there theaters. Watch it and admire the daring choices that the screenwriters took. Enjoy the casting choices of mixing late teenagers with thirty-somethings and believing that they are the same age. Enjoy that when people get angry they betray their country of origin. Enjoy that the screenwriters don't seem to understand the difference between college and high school/gymnasium.
Everything is a conglomeration of awkward trends and fears. It feels as if a Bulgarian producer met with his stepdaughter for an hour to understand what social media is about AND THEN he watched last year's horror movie about Facebook to get this idea.
This is a brilliant bad movie. I think the atmosphere really added something for me as well. My wife and I were accompanied by a middle-aged man and his octogenarian mother. I have no idea why they were there but they took it far more seriously than we did.
I don't want to spoil anything more for you guys and I highly encourage going to the theater tomorrow and saving this movie from getting removed from theaters for lack of interest. This is a bellwether of the direction that cinema must take to understand what millennials want. Please, answer my plea and save Friend Request.
