BETA vs. VHS was the equivalent of what we now face in the NETFLIX vs CINEMA vs PIRATING era of movie watching

The way that we watch movies is about to change. The demand for home entertainment is increasing and the theatres charge me $23 for stale popcorn and a watered down soda with a tiny bag of candy. My wife and I can't enjoy a movie in the theatre because some asshole is on his phone and nobody cares, we pay almost $60CDN all-in with admission and snacks and by the time we get home from the theater we don't always feel like boning anymore because the movies always suck. But then if we stay home and watch netflix then all of the sudden I have a better chance of giving my wife a footrub. God knows she begs for it and then maybe I can get some if I stay home and rub her feet. I remember when bringing a woman to the theater cost less than $30 and gave you had a decent chance at getting laid after. BETA videos used to have a decent share of the market and then the faceoff with VHS resulted with the winner being elected from the Porn Industry that ended up being VHS because it was the format that Porn Producers Preferred (source needed). Now the different production companies are splintering off from Netflix and looking to do their on thing. Netflix has been a one-stop-shop for so long, but now the entertainment giants want to create many services with many fees and many subscriptions so that we pay more and get less. In the end people will find a way and a single streaming site even more powerful than Netflix will give us all the entertainment that has ever existed.

Until then, Cinemas need to start showing films that don't insult our intelligence and THEY NEED TO KEEP THEATRES CLEAN! THE floors are sticky, people put their feet up on the seats in front of them. People use their phones and the staff never address bad behaviours. I don't blame them, it is just some 14 year old kid who doesn't complain about the job because they get free movies, but how about hiring and training professionals in a sustainable way that sell good snacks and treat people to a night out. Then I would enjoy going to the theater. I honestly dread the experience so much that I just want to stay home and illegally watch a movie. It's free and I might get laid.
