17 years ago I saw Requiem for a Dream in the theater. One of my favorite films, only seen it twice because it's so hard to watch. What are your "hard to watch" favorites?

When it came out I was entering the "movie buff" phase of my 20's, I had recently seen Aronofsky's PI and thought it would be a good watch. It was, director got an amazing performance out of everyone, even Marlon Wayans. It made me feel physically dirty when watching it though. It's a rough ride. I haven't seen it in 15 years, and I have inclination to either, it's just a draining experience.
