Beginning today, change the way you think about the path to achieving your goals. The small ones that keep you going week-to-week. Like reading a book, learning a new skill, language, or subject, or cultivating new relationships.
So many of us wait to start down the path or delay the next step of our pursuits, waiting for the right time. Waiting for a day or week or month with an "adequate" amount of time to dedicate to accomplishing our goal. All the while, we are allowing the seconds and minutes of opportunity to pass us by.
What begins to happen? We become accustomed to the perceived fullness of each day. Marriage, children, work, school... There are so many things to keep us busy throughout all stages of life. Eventually, here we sit, exhausted and unmotivated to pursue the goals that once brightened our days and livened our hearts.
Instead, we should be utilizing the blips of free time during our day to pursue those things! What was once a wasted 5 minutes can equate to a little progress. Before long, we have made leaps of progress! And with that progress comes more motivation!
So, today, as you consider new goals or reconsider the goals you once wanted to accomplish, don't wait for the perfect moment with enough time to endulge in your goal. Maximize the minutes throughout each day. Take the small steps that add up to accomplishing your marathon.
