Unnecessary sequels continue to plague Hollywood with 'Bad Moms Christmas' set for the Holidays

IMDB gave Bad Moms a 6.8, while rotten tomatoes had a 57% fresh rating. It made $113m domestic on a $20m budget.

Is this another example of Hollywood's lack of creativity? Or just following a financial trend? Because I am not sure this is a necessary installment. Is this a kind of movie you are interested in seeing?

I am not a movie producer and understand the business of it, however, you would think some movies would have a higher risk of a sequel of spin off than others. A sequel to most Marvel related films seem bankable, yet, to think this is a good idea, or a bankable idea, I would put on a higher risk peg than if it was an original script. Accordingly, "The film was announced on December 23, 2016, just two months after Bad Moms (2016) finished its theatrical run in the United States. Only 15 months separate the release dates of the original film and its sequel." Which suggests they were riding its popularity too soon.

I have seen the movie, and for the most part, bored with the film. I did not find it funny, but rather, typical at best. I single this film out because it seems just the type of film that does not contribute anything to the world of filmmaking. Not even on an artistic level. It seems like someone higher up is doing a personal favor for someone, and not for anyone else. The number of films that come out yearly is too congested as it is for any one person to see everything or even be aware of its release. It only serves to take away revenue from a potentially good film. What are your thoughts? Am I overthinking this?
