I dont usually do this but here we go, this is pure speculaion
Because of all of the unexpectancy surrounding the talk of this movie, heres what i think the title means.
Yes Luke is the confirmed last Jedi, but, i think he turns to a "bad dude" or gets killed which makes Rey the last Jedi. A cross -meaning and not too clever but a lot of the marketing leads up to that.
