So I just got round to watching Shutter Island. Don't ask me why I haven't seen it before, but it's stunning.

It's just so ridiculous. The story is standard B-movie stuff, the island, the nutters etc, but it's done in an A-list way! It's a piss take of the horror movie tropes and conventions of the past.

I've read reviews of it and people say its amazing, the ending was just so unexpected but it's really insane to me. It's so clear...the ferry at the start, taking them to the island, honking it's horn...it's the soundtrack all the way through...it honks!!

EDIT: Mark Kermode agrees. I've been watching youtube for "reviews" but the standard of youtube reviewers is limited to say the least.
