People who saw JAWS in the theater in 1975 (especially those who saw it opening weekend): what was the experience like?

I'm rewatching Jaws again for the first time in years and there's so much that's so great about this movie, even after all this time. I was just imagining what it must have been like to see it in the theater. Seeing such a good movie, with so many other people experiencing it with you, and with no one even having any previous frame of reference for a "Blockbuster" movie phenomenon: what was your personal experience with it?
