I just saw the movie last night. I have read good things about it, so I gave it a go. I just didn't see what all the hype was about. It seemed almost unfinished/rushed.
Towards the beginning of the movie, there appears to be some sort of humanoid thing outside when Paul and Will are driving off to go get Will's family. Travis is also seen drawing similar creatures in his spare time. Is this what is causing the "plague" that the world is now experiencing? These creatures were never really shown doing anything nor were they talked about. Is there something I missed?
Travis and Kim seem to have some sort of weird (sexual?) tension between them for like a scene, and then nothing further happens or is even hinted at. Is there something I missed between these two?
The dog runs off, and comes back dead with the doors open. Andrew may/may not have opened the door I guess, but he certainly didn't venture off into the woods himself, kill the dog, and drag it back to the house all while everyone else was sleeping. They don't explain at all really what happened to the dog. Was it the humanoid looking things? Is there something I missed?
Will mentions his brother at the beginning of the film, and then when sharing a whisky with Paul said he's an only child. Paul asked him about that, and Will said oh it is actually my brother in law, he's like a brother. The whole movie kept insinuating Will was a shady guy that couldn't be trusted, but he didn't even really do anything bad until the very end when he did what anybody else would have done, and tried to leave to help his family that was all getting sick. Also, how did their son get sick? Is there something I missed?
Overall, I just felt like it was a ton of lead-up with no closure, no explanations of anything, yet the reviews are almost unanimously favorable towards the move. Anybody else feel the way I did?
