For myself, I notice that I don't like to watch "average" films anymore. I'm talking about films that aren't bad, but there's nothing particularly special about them either. While this may not sound bad, it always puts me at odds against my friends and family who don't love film as much as I do. They'll want to watch certain films that I've heard from multiple of my favorite reviewers are passable and nothing more. I know it sounds pretentious and I should make my own opinion but I just feel like I'm wasting my time watching these types of films.
