This guy is crazy talented, but he just don't get to show himself as a director very often. It might be conscious decision on his part, but I'd love to see him "breakout" to wider audience. I think he might be another Denis Villeneuve or Nicolas Vendig Windig Refn but just didn't have the chance to do his Arrival or Drive yet.
Or is there something else behind this? Is he difficult to work with or something? I had a feeling he didn't really get along with screenwriter of True Detective and that's why he didn't stick around for season 2.
