During development for Independence Day: Resurgence, Will Smith wanted a $50 million contract for the two sequels. How ridiculous is this in the realm of contract negotiations?

At the time of discussions, Fox was planning two sequels to be shot back to back and this contract would have been for him to appear in both films. Fox refused to negotiate due to the amount of money he wanted and we have the current film that was released last year. All that aside though, compared to other high profile actors, returning for sequels or other large summer blockbusters was his request really that absurd?
