[Discussion] Does watching movies in parts ruin the experience?

I've never been a big movie fan but recently I've started checking out more and more titles. However, i don't have the time (and sometimes patience) to sit down for 2 hours and watch a film. I'm thinking about calculating the half way point of a film, stopping there and then returning later that day or night. Does anyone else do this? Thank you :)
