I have a thing for good practical effects, on-site shoots and things of that nature. I can often tell when an action packed moment on a busy landscape is really just one or two actors in front of a green screen interacting with something that isn't even there, and it takes away from the film.
Can anyone recommend a good film with action that's been made recently which makes use of practical effects? A Hollywood film like that would be nice to see, but I'm not holding my breath, so any sort of world cinema is a welcome recommendation.
