Just came back from the theaters after watching Blade Runner 2049: This isn't just a good movie, this is ART. One of the best movies I've ever seen.

I'm not a big sci-fi guy (or even a movie guy in general), but Blade Runner 2049 just blew all my expectations away. This is hands down one of the best sci-fi movies I will possibly experience in my lifetime.

I haven't seen a movie in a long time that evoked such fascination/immersion for me. I was hooked from the start!

It's in my personal top 5 movies for sure.

Some other notes:

-Fantastic scoring that captures the locales/action found within the movie (and is an amazing improvement to the original movie's score). This is great as it doesn't rely on typical orchestra music, but evokes the dreamy, synthy soundwaves of the original movie.

-Amazing sound & art design that provides you the best amount of goosebumps & intrigue. The movie wouldn't be the same without it.

-Fantastic pacing. Each scene feels like it serves a great purpose.

-Locales are hauntingly beautiful. The camera pans wide & high to let us absorb the scale of the locations we visit.

-Characters/Dialogue. The performances were top-notch, and Ryan Gosling nails his character straight from his first appearance.

-Executes on its plot points seamlessly.

-Overall feels like a perfect revisitation of the original Blade Runner.

I hope this movie does well.

You are doing yourself a disservice by not checking this out!

tl;dr — you don't want this movie to ever end… When it finishes, a piece inside of you feels empty, like experiencing your first love for the first time, only to suffer a tough breakup 2 hours later (which you'll have a hard time moving on from)...
